Mykola Katerynchuk: Kyiv needs a European repair
“A European repair is needed not only in our apartments but in the City of Kyiv. Kyiv deserves to live in the best traditions of the European democracy”.
“This promise was given here in Maydan in 2004 and we, the representatives of the European Movement, on the contrary to the rest of the politicians, are ready to fulfill it”, - this thesis was declared today by Mykola Katerynchuk - the leader of the European Movement in Ukraine, the People’s Deputy of Ukraine during the Europe’s Day celebrations in Kyiv.

“Over 67% of the citizens of Ukraine support the idea of the European model of the country’s development. Two years ago we founded “The European Movement”. This decision was made because Ukrainian authorities nowadays are doing nothing for moving closer to Europe but simply declaring about the European integration of the country. Our authorities only imitate activities and this makes a big danger for us because we need real reforms”, - Mykola Katerynchuk underlined. – “The European Movement” unites all those who are ready to stop Ukraine’s transformation into the oligarchic state and prevent stability ruination and state-building in general”.
Within the framework of the Europe’s Day celebrations representatives of the European Movement organized bicycle racing with the participation of about 200 bicyclists. The race was headed by Mykola Katerynchuk – the leader of the European Movement. The race which started in the Hidropark finished at the European Movement Pavilion in Khreshchatyk.
Immediately after the race finish Mykola Katerynchuk had a meeting with the Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine Ian Boag and the Vice- Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine Dirk Schuebel.
The team of the European Movement also took part in the football match dedicated to the Europe’s Day.
