The Militia Prevents the European Party in Holding a Voters’ Meeting in the Sofia Square in Kyiv (updated 11:30)!!!

Today on September, 10th, 2010 the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, the People's Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk is holding a meeting with voters in the Sofia Square in Kyiv. However representatives of law enforcement bodies unreasonably try to prevent the meeting, demanding to stop it and disperse all those who had gathered in the square.

The European Party of Ukraine regards the actions of representatives of law enforcement bodies as such that interfere with holding peaceful meetings being guaranteed by the Constitution of Ukraine.

At present there are about 500 people present at the meeting.

Thanks to the mass media immediate reaction it was possible to suspend the representatives of law enforcement bodies’ impact trying to prevent the meeting of Mykola Katerynchuk with voters in the Sofia Square in Kyiv.

At present the meeting proceeds.
