Mykola Katerynchuk Submitted about 60 Amendments to the Local Elections Draft Law
Today the leader of the European Party of Ukraine, the People's Deputy of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk as the legislative initiative has submitted about 60 amendments to the Draft Law about elections of deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Autonomous Republic Crimea, local councils and village, town, city mayors (reg.¹ 6601 of 6/29/2010).
In particular, it was offered to leave electoral blocks as subjects of electoral process. Besides, it is offered to change positions of a number of articles for the purpose of introduction of the transparent mechanism of election committees’ formation.
Also it is offered to provide to citizens of Ukraine at the legislative level a possibility to realise their constitutional right to be elected, namely – provision of self-promotion possibility in local governments.
It is offered to exclude norm towards powers of the Central Electoral Committee to establish the results of corresponding local elections in case of default of powers by corresponding territorial election committee and to improve the order of formation and activities of election committees.
Also according to Mykola Katerynchuk adoption of the submitted amendments will make impossible abusing with lists of voters that is the tool for distortion of voters’ will. The Press-service The European Party of Ukraine
