The European Party of Ukraine since the very moment of its foundation declared about its strategic goal – obtaining the European Union membership by Ukraine. All our start points and activities have been directed to the achievement of this goal. And today the European Parliament has voted the historic resolution for Ukraine which consolidates Ukraine the right to apply for the EU membership. In addition the European Parliament applied to the Council of the European Union for presenting the Mandate for the development of the Visa-free regime roadmap for Ukraine by the European Commission.

 

During the years of its independence the authorities of Ukraine tried to implement the European integration desires of the citizens in one way or another. Gradually, step by step we have been bringing closer the desired goals - the Visa-free regime and the European membership. We consider that through our activities we are bringing it closer too.

 

The European Party of Ukraine having been cooperating closely with the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (the third  most important group in the European Parliament consisting of 84 deputies) used every possibility to make aware the European Parliament about the European integration desires of Ukraine. Every event and every initiative in the Parliament or anywhere else, every step has been, is and will be directed to this country’s strengthening and making it a part of the European civilization, its culture and values.

 

 

With regard to this remarkable occasion for us the European Party of Ukraine is expressing its deepest gratefulness to the European Liberal Democratic and Reform Party and the European Democratic Party for the promotion of these decisions. We hope that the new age in the history of Ukraine with its European integration desires will not be advanced for a long time and the citizens of this country will be able to visit their European neighbours without any obstacles in the nearest future and new economic relationship with the European Union will put a positive impact on their welfare.

 

Surely we will be the members of the European Union and we consider it to be the only right way for us.
