Today due to the decision of the Political Council of the Mykola Katerynchuk Block it has been considered expedient for the leader of the European Party of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk to continue his work in the post of the People’s Deputy in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine .

 

Our opinion is that the Kyiv problems should be solved not only at the Kyivrada level but by the reform of the local authorities and communal system at the law-making level. Thus Mykola Katerynchuk has to continue his activities in the status of the People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine implementing there the Mykola Katerynchuk Block’s Pre-election Program.

 

We consider his urgent tasks in the Parliament are as follows: initiation and adoption of the amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine and to the Law of Ukraine “About the Capital of Ukraine – the City-Hero Kyiv” concerning the delimitation of the authorities of the Kyiv City Head and the Chairman of the City State Administration; amendments to the Law of Ukraine “About the Elections of the Deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Local Councils and Village, Town and City Chairmen” concerning election of the City Chairmen in two rounds; returning to the territorial electoral system at all levels; amendments to the Law of Ukraine “About Local Self-Government in Ukraine” concerning the advancement of the authorities of the street and building committees with the aim to provide them more powers in control over local budget expenses and construction issues.

 

These were the main arguments for the Mykola Katerynchuk Block’s decision for the European Party of Ukraine to be represented in the Parliament.
